Harvest in the birthplace of Leonardo da Vinci

If you are staying in Pisa and you enjoy driving, it is a good idea to go to visit a small medieval village called Vinci, the birthplace of the great genius Leonardo da Vinci.

Vinci is situated in the surroundings of Florence, on top of a hill right over the valley of the Arno river. A gentle landscape of vineyards and olive groves makes a marvellous setting for this pictoresque corner of old Tuscany. For centuries the area has based its economy on agriculture and wine-making, so Vinci is now famous for its excellent wines.

You have the chance to choose in which farmhouse to stay just around Vinci and if you come in September you will have a relaxing, interesting and amusing walk among the vineyards right during the harvest… The month of the “vendemmia” is your unique opportunity to enjoy all the beautiful and intense colours of our countryside shading from summer to autumn especially at sunset. Together with the farm owner you will taste the good wines and olive oil of the farm. Come and visit these wonderful places!
